Topic 6 DQ1
Upon much reflective and in-depth discussion with the preceptor, we evaluated and analyzed the importance of effective leadership in healthcare organizations and the integral role of economic models in improving the quality of care and patient satisfaction. We have realized that organizations which have cohesive leadership that shares a common focus and goals empower their healthcare workers, especially nurses to operates with a clear vision based on an organizational culture that focuses on patient safety, value of care, and provision of high-quality services through a commitment to evidence-based practice (EBP) interventions (Cleverley et al., 2019). Effective and people-centered leadership is essential as it fosters agreement in shared goals, and encourages active participation, commitment from the nursing staff, and managerial support in all aspects of the organization. Transformational and servant leadership models are the most people-centered and patient-focused as they allow employees to integrate best practices with patients’ interests as the driving force (McAlearney et al., 2018). Congruent leadership practices and actions based on these two styles maximize the possibility of successful implementation and sustainability of any EBP intervention leading to care optimization and patient satisfaction.
Organizations use economic models to control spending, especially one that is unnecessary and leads to increased cost burden for the organization and patients. Through the analysis of various economic models, healthcare organizations and providers can lower unnecessary expenditure and wastefulness in resource utilization and deployment (Kitson et al., 2021). For instance, the use of value-based healthcare purchase as an economic model focuses on delivery of high-quality care while using minimal resources or costs for patients. The model is well-placed to promote and support EBP, as it prioritizes the use of cost-effective and better interventions that leverage patient needs and lower overall cost burden. The implication is that these models require effective leadership for better implementation to translate to quality patient care.

Topic 6 DQ 2
The highlights of the strategic plan include ensuring that nurses have sufficient resources and information on falls and their effects in nursing homes. As such, the strategic plan will emphasize remediation, reeducation, and effective training of nurses on different aspects to promote better interventions to reduce falls in the nursing home (Engle et al., 2021). At the core of the strategic plan is to ensure that patients get sufficient support while nurses and other healthcare providers integrate best practices based on evidence to reduce and prevent the occurrence of falls in the selected facility; nursing homes.
Modifications will also entail increased use of technology like having the alarm and an alert system that considers the different levels of patient needs and situations in the facility. These modifications are necessary to increase compliance and attain support from all affected stakeholders in the nursing home (Li et al., 2019). The integration will also entail engaging patient’s facilities and better analysis of the current gait levels of each patient with a view of customizing any intervention and increasing hourly rounding to identify any patient that will require assistance in the facility (Kitson et al., 2021). Again, another critical modification would be the use of fall scales based on patient needs and condition. These scales are essential in documenting all possible causes of falls and working to reduce their occurrence.
Additional information to complete the capstone project paper will include sufficient patient records, current best practices that can work based on individual needs, and resources available as provided by the management in dealing with these events. The main plan to attain these is engaging stakeholders and using effective communication. The stakeholders include organizational management and leaders as well as nurses handling patients with different care needs.
