I have discovered as I look over the course objectives that topics 4 and 6 are areas in which I am lacking background knowledge. In particular, I lack the necessary knowledge to choose the best study design for the evidence-based practice proposals. Also, I do not have a thorough comprehension of the statistical tests that must be used in order to implement the evidence-based practice approaches. The assessment strategy for the evidence-based approach and how to identify gaps in the literature based on the findings are topics I have yet to fully grasp. I am excited to learn and I am certain that the course will provide me the skills and resources I need to increase my expertise in these areas despite my knowledge gaps.
Course-Related Topics I Would Like to Discuss with My Instructor and Classmates
As I start this course, I am curious to discussing about topics involving the use of statistics in nursing research or evidence-based practice. I want to look at how statistical analysis can be used to healthcare data to find trends and patterns and how this knowledge can be applied to better patient outcomes. In addition, I’d want to know how various statistical techniques are used in nursing research or evidence-based practice, as well as how to choose the best statistical test for a certain research issue. One of my primary concerns regarding this course is whether or not an extensive strategy would be used to improve knowledge of the many facets of each topic being studied.
