Project Evaluation Essay
The aim of introducing a change is to improve performance, introduce new skills and keep up with the advancement in handling issues in any organization. In a healthcare setting, the introduction of a change can be beneficial by reducing costs, increasing patients’ safety, and improving the quality of care. The overall result would be positive patient health outcomes. Evaluation is necessary for the change project to determine the relevance, impact, and effectiveness of change according to the objectives. Therefore, an appropriate evaluation technique should be applied to gather information about the project’s achievements and value.
My project involved violence prevention in the hospital and the use of the Broset score. According to the project’s objectives, the interventions had to be evaluated to achieve the desired outcome. The anticipated outcomes were reduced violence and increased competency and use of the Broset score among the healthcare workers. The best way to evaluate the success of my project would be the summative evaluation technique, also known as end-term evaluation. Summative evaluation occurs at the end of the project implementation (Boothroyd, 2018).
The summative evaluation assesses the project’s output, impact, or outcome at the end of the implementation process to identify the objectives met and correct mistakes. The aim is to determine how well the change project was implemented, the cost-effectiveness of the interventions, whether the interventions solved the problem they were intended to, and determine the sustainability of the evidence-based project (Bhat & Bhat, 2019).

Summative evaluation would help evaluate the success of my evidence-based project because it would determine the use of the Broset score, the competency of health workers in using the score, and the efficacy of the Broset score. It would also determine the occurrence of violent episodes in the facility to measure the success and effectiveness of the change project.
